Mrs. Stuhff (Third grade) chose The BFG by Roald Dahl.
Mrs. Quick (Office) chose The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. Mrs. Topham (First grade) loves 'Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch' by Eileen Spinelli. At few times a week a student will say "I don't know which book to choose,", or they will ask me to choose one for them. It is a little overwhelming since we have a LOT of titles to choose from! So, how do you begin to choose a book?
One way is to search by genre. To do this, search the Destiny program by typing in fantasy, for example., or mystery, or adventure books. You can search by series such as 'Magic Tree House' or 'Geronimo Stilton'. Maybe you love anything that has to do with dogs. This would be a subject search. Type in 'dogs', but be prepared to get a very long list. .Another great way to choose a book is by searching for an author that you have enjoyed before. Favorite authors in our library are: -Roald Dahl -Shel Silverstein -Rick Riordan -Brandon Mull -Dr. Seuss -Amy Krauss Rosenthal -Steve Jenkins -Kate DiCamillo How do YOU choose books? If you have a great idea, let me know so I can share it with others! Mrs. Carlson |
