What do you call a day when every answer is "yes?" Yes day!
This week in the library, we are reading "Yes Day," by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. We are creating a "yes day" for every day of the week. Ask your students what their "yes day" looks like!

Wonder by R.J. Palacio Do not read it because you have soccer. You have homework. You have chores. You have to sleep. Don't even start this book because you will be so interested in it you won't have time for all your other activities. Even though it is a really awesome book about a boy who was born with a deformed face and so everyone treats him differently and then he goes to school for the first time and wonderful and awful things happen to him. Because of his face. Hmmmm.... Just don't read it; you don't have time. If you don't believe me, ask Sophie Greenwood, she'll tell you!
Mrs. Carlson Students!
Have you seen the new 'Readbox' in the front hall by the main office? This is for YOU to exchange books for FREE! Bring some of your (gently used) books from home to donate. Place them on the shelves for others to read. Feel free to take a book home that someone else didn't want anymore! What a great way to recycle and enjoy a book! Just make sure that your book is appropriate for elementary school. HAVE FUN! READ! READ! READ! Just a reminder, students! ALL library books and magazines are due next week on your regular library day! Finish reading them. If you have lost books, now is the time to FIND them and return them so you don't have to pay for them!
Hey Students! Do you have a library card for the public library? If not, ask your parents to help you get one. They are free and it will keep you busy and happy all summer long! Also, look at this power point to see how you can get prizes and even a free book just for reading this summer!

AuthorMrs. Walsh was born in a traveling circus with three lions, six elephants and a monkey for pets. Mrs. Carlson loves to go home to her submarine under the Great Salt Lake where she lives with her husband and twelve children. Both Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Walsh love their jobs in the library, especially reading and making up stories. Archives
